I was wondering if I decided to sell my 55 gallon fish tank, stand, hood, lights, filter, heater, gravel and plants and 10 fish, what would be a good price and where would a good place to go? The pet store around here won't take the tank because it's "used". THe tank is still in really good condition, as is the stand. I really don't want to get rid of it, I just need the room in my house, and I just had a baby so you know all the stuff that comes with that!

I've seen people sell 55-gallon tank/stand/component combos for up to $400 on craigslist. I, personally, wouldn't pay that, so shoot for something more reasonable, like $200-$250.

Try posting on your local Craigslist site.

If you get really desperate, see if there are any local yard sales in your neighborhood that'll let you sell them there. My fiance and I found our 55-gallon tank/stand/light/canopy combo for $25 at a yard sale.

I would say a good price would be between $100 and $150. Just put it in the classifieds and place signs up in a few stores.

Put an ad in the local newspaper or post it on ebay. You will certainly get at least $100 for a full working setup, even if it is used.
