I know this is a stupid question, but are you prevented from using the actual egg carton that the eggs were purchased from the store in??? You could decorate that with stuff -- cotton, straw, playdough, etc., -- that was named by other answerers... Just asking...

Line a shoe box with a couple of layers of bubble wrap and a layer or two of quilt batting on top of that until you have reduced the interior of the box enough to create a nest to hold the egg stationary.

it really is extra problematic than what I had to do. shall we use fairly a lot any components, i imagine. i'd anticipate folding the paper into pyramids often is the most look after, yet i do not somewhat understand, nor do i understand how you'll try this.

As long as you have enough insulation, it can be anything. Try using a can of play-doh, and use the play-doh as insulation. I did this once and it worked. (Plus, you get the "Oh, that's totally broken--woah, it's not!" reaction.)
