Plato - Aristotle are cornerstones of coarse.

St. Thomas Aquinas broke the ground for modern philosophy, and layed out the techniques for scientists to create hypothesis'. This need to create a hypothesis, disprove it, and then prove it has led to many scientifc & philosophical advances since the great Plato & Aristotle.

Warning ... since his philosophical techniques are layed out scientifically, it's a dry read. My Priest recommends that you read the 3rd paragraph (pgrf) - 1st pgrf - 5th pgrf - 2nd pgrf - 4th pgrf ... My little giraffe brain isn't ready for intense philosophy yet, so I've been holding off.
