If this game were being played in Seattle, I'd be more inclined to pick the SeaHawks.

Seattle has not been a good road team(15-17 since 2002) as
evidenced by their performance against Detroit, a team that held them to 9 points,173 net yds passing by Hasselbeck, a mere 51 yds by Alexander(who fumbled twice) and a pitiful 2 of 11 on third
down conversions(18%).

In that game, Seattle also gave up 5 sacks for 37 yards, 2 blocked
kicks & a fumble to a similar(but much less mature) defensive
scheme as the Bears(Bears have better players too) while allowing Kitna 5.3 yds/pass attempt for 213 net yds, 5/14 third downs(36%) and 4.4yds per play.

Seattle didnt win the game as much as Detroit lost it by fumbling
on their own 47 which led to the first Seattle FG and punting into
the end zone from Seattle's 37 which resulted in the winning FG.

The Bears destroyed Detroit the following week 34-7.

The Bears are tied for 5th in the league in sacks(10), have only
given up 2 sacks in 3 games and have allowed an avg of only 7.7
pts/game with a touchdown coming on the Grossman pick versus the Vikings.

Seattle has allowed 8 sacks in 3 games, averaged just 198yds
passing per game to Chicago's 273yds and are allowing 15.3 points per game.

It is true that Chicago's run offense is not what it was last year
but this is primarily due to opposing teams stacking the box to
force Grossman to beat them through the air, which he has done.

The Bears were embarrased by Carolina in the playoffs last year
and see this game as an opportunity to prove what might have
been had they taken Steve Smith more seriously.

Chicago is a hungry team on a mission. Seattle will be lucky to make it out of Soldier Field alive.

Thats not to say it wont be a close game(I believe it will be) but
home field advantage should provide Chicago with a 3-6pt win over a playoff bound Seattle team that will not want to experience another beating like they'll get on Sunday should these teams meet again in the post season.

Regardless of who wins, Seattle will limp home, licking their wounds.

This one could go either way, on the one hand the Bears don't have as much offense as they thought they did. On the other hand, offense or not the Bears defense is dominant. I think the bears will for the most part shutdown an otherwise potent Seahawks offense. Unfortunately for Bears fans that still won't be enough for them to win this one. Seahawks 14, Bears 10

Scratch that, I just heard that Alexander is out with a broken foot. No Alexander = one dimensional on offense = Bears win.
Bears 17, Seahawks 10.

depends on what seahawk team shows up. the team that barely beat detroit 9-6, or the team that ridiculously humiliated the giants 42-30(and it wasn't even that close.) was like 42-3 at the start of the 4th qtr. if the seahawks play like that, i don't think any NFC team, or NFL team for that matter could stop them. only problem is that i don't think they can keep up that kind of pace offensively, whereas the Bears have played awesome D, and have gotten good production offensively.

I pick the Bears in a 19-15 slug fest.

Let's see. The Seahawks whooped up on the Giants, but the Giants weren't really outplayed. Did you see all of those dropped passes, personal foul calls and other horrible penalties. The Giants were exposed as having a horrible defense.

Oh yah....back to Seattle and the Bears. In Soldier Field on Sunday night, it will be cold and Shawn Alexander has a flat tire. The Chicago secondary is much better than the Giants and their front four is holding runners to minimal yardage (Shawn Alexander or not).

Bears, they've played better teams and are winning. Sure their offense struggled yesterday, BUT they were playing the VIKINGS, not the Lions. Remember that 9-6 victory for the Seahawks season opener. Yet the Bears went out and demolished GB for their opener, and I think the opponents are a fair comperison unless you want to say GB is a little better.

The bears faced a much improved defense in Minnesota yesterday, and came up with the W. Vikings D showed some crazy s--t with their pass rush and ruffled Grossman's feathers several times but he held his composer when the opportunity presented itself thanks to their first rate defense forcing a turnover at a critical point in the game.

Seattle isn't nearly as scary as they were last year. I agree that this will be a fairly close game but I give the edge to Chicago.
