The political climate is still about 2 years behind the electorate. Aside for those poor families who are losing a child to the war, I don't know a single soul who gives a damn about what is happening in Iraq,

For starters, it has made the "Party of Lincoln" far less popular than at any time in the past 10 years. (the Pubs) That is why you see them trying to link the war in Iraq to the War on Terror (the war without boundaries, the war without end). That is also why you see them distancing themselves from their dear President even though they supported everything he ever did or said, with a few rare exceptions. They know the public is against the war, so they have to say it's the most important part of the war on terror. What was it that Joseph Goebbels once said about truth? Oh, I know "If you tell a lie often enough, people will eventually believe it"
The democrats have a very good chance of gaining control of one or both lower houses in November as a direct result of the Iraq war and other Bush administration policies and practices.

Seed money is being filtered through Government contractors more than without involvement of any wars or the war machine is cranked up! Thus Bush's idea of economy stimulation.
