What's the big deal?

two reasons:
1. there is nothing worse than going to the bathroom in the middle of the night and sitting on a cold porcelain toliet seat. granted, one should always look first, but when you're tired, you're tired.
2. having the toliet seat up exposes the inside of your toliet. unless you clean it every day, dirt, grime, and the business that goes in the toliet is left on the inside. and that's gross.

since the standard is to have the toliet seat down, if you alter what is the standard, you should fix it when you're done.

If you ever go to the bathroom in the night and don't turn the light on so you won't wake any one up and you sit on a toilet with the seat up and you bottom hits that cold rim and splashes in the water then you will know why.

It's not really that big of a deal. It's just that most women don't like to touch the nasty seat when they have to put it back down. Eeew!

I agree with you. Ideally, we should remember to put the seat down, but if we occasionally forget it's not the end of the world. I have never understood all the fuss over nothing.

Who wants to actually touch the toilet seat? Whether you dont directly touch it or whatever that is disgusting. I didnt put the seat up, and so I shouldnt have to put it down. GROSS !!

Things could fall into it by mistake
It's more sanitary
Always close lid then flush - keeps bathroom air fresher/cleaner
Keeps pets and little kids out
Some people keep birds and they don't want the bird getting in it
That water is really not clean

I dont think its a big deal either, but I guess that some women that have their "set ways" want it down

I don't think anybody cares, but it is an avenue of communication between the sexes. I mean, what else would we talk about, right?

I always put it down out of respect, but if I forget I have never heard my wife complain about it.
