I had this man who volunteered to train me. During the first ten hour session, he introduced me to all the partners and was constantly explaining things to me. He's good looking, kind, and I have to admit attractive, but I would never mix my building career with personal life and made sure I didn't show it. Near the end of the shift, we went back to headquarters where he had some things to do before he left. I stuck around to spend time with the other partners while everyone was finishing up work. My training-partner left so suddenly with barely saying goodbye, which seemed uncharacteristic. As I left the building with his partners, they were like "what was his rush all about" and then they told me he had a wife and kid on the way. I had no idea, I thought maybe he had a girlfriend at most, and out of all the talking we did.... he didn't mention them once!!
Now I have a bad gut feeling. I did't think I did anything wrong, but something's not right. what the hell could this be?

I think that you may be feeling guilt but more for him bc he never mentioned his wife and kid so you feel that he tried to keep it from you. A lot of guys do that bc they feel if they decide they want to pursue you later then the less you know is the better. But do you know when you watch tv and someone is going through something we feel as if is us, so I hope that explains it a litttle. it just shows that ur not an evil person!!

He was respecting the professional distance that should be maintained in an office atmosphere. He is under no requirement to disclose any part of his personal life to you. Particularly on a first meeting. It is professionally inappropriate. It sounds like he is a gentleman and anxious to get home to his wife who is expecting. That's a more exciting and intimate time for husbands and wives than I think you might understand (not being married -- not trying to be sarcastic or cruel). Thank your lucky stars that you working with such a nice guy.

He's not required to tell you all of his personal buisness and provided he didn'e lie to you he may have just been a little aloof or concerned that you were waiting around on him maybe he didn't trust himself around you maybe there was something there but the bottom line is now you know the deal he has a wife and baby on the way now you can be friendly and focuse on your career not a cute guy..

Boy are you so right! Him not mentioning the wife and kid on the way is for sure a baaad sign. Be careful. Sorry. Sure sounds like he was trying to leave his options open...like a player. That really sucks. I am with you--trust yourself and be safe.

i'm very paranoid so it will be worry-free for me to respond to this question...it would only be that something got here up at the same time with his spouse also it ought to were possibly he changed into catching thoughts also and he felt the only thanks to deal changed into go away .....each little thing isn't continually about us ans inspite of the reality that it sounds unusual it ought to easily be a twist of destiny

Maybe it is nothing, you just feel that because you thought you knew him and you were wrong. Maybe you feel betrayed in a way, when it is no ones fault.
