When I lost mine, it was not painful but not the greatest experience of my life either. It became better for me after I had done it a few times.

I'd say both.
at first it was painful but after a bit, it was OK. the guy needs to take his time. that makes it easier. lots of lubrication and use protection for sure.

it sucks the first time cos it hurts... hopefully the dude is nice enough to lube and hopefully its only 5 or 10 minutes... young ladies dont really enjoy it until experience kicks in
