Some just asked this question anyhow, my top 5 are:
1. Dale Earnhardt Sr. dies at Daytona 500 caused by a wreck on the last lap and Jr. winning the race then in Victory Lane finding out that his father was dead. Such a happy yet sad moment for him.
2. Adam Petty dying, and ever since Kyle Petty has never been the same, then I think that his number in cup or busch whichever he raced was 45 and his dads was 43 then after that Kyle went to 45 or something like that.
3. Hendrick Motorsports plane crash killing 11 people, Rick Hendrick, battling lukemia and in remission, losing his son, brother, and 2 neices, and at the exact same time Jeff Gordon completing a rare Martinsville Sweep and him and his other teammates suffering the loss of fellow friends that they deeply cared about.
4. In 2005, Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt Jr. not making the race for the chase and first year since Jeff Gordon's rookie year that he did not make the chase and it was his 13th year of racing, and now him and Jr. are both in it and both have great chances of winning and Gordon's drive for five is stronger then ever.
5. Matt Kenseth spinning Jeff Gordon out at Bristol, then Kenseth being the stupid person he is walking over to Jeff Gordon after spinning him and he had to of known something was going to happen, and Jeff Gordon shoved him and got fined $10,000, and Kenseth should of known better not to go up to a driver you just spun after it happens because their going to me mad at you, I have no clue what he was thinking and hate Kenseth because of his stupidness. Then at Chicago Jeff Gordon accidently spinning Kenseth out and yes it might of been payback but hey I'm a Jeff Gordon fan what do you expect?

1. I think it's all of the death's and tragedies in Nascar.. These are always shocking and yeah, there are more famous ones..but there are a lot more than 5.
2. Jeff Gordon missing the chase last year..
3. Jeff Gordon shoving Matt Kenseth this year.. Uhmm wow mama.. who woulda thunk.
4. Spencer flying over the car and rearranging Kurt Busch's nasal cavity.
5. Any moment that just catches you attention and is like waiii what.. LOL

All of these are tragic events but remember others too.
1) J D McDuffie killed at Watkins Glenn.
2) Bobby Allison Flies into the catch fence at Talladega.
3) Both of Bobby Allisons' sons die(Davy in the helocopter crash at Talladega,Clifford in a practice crash for the Busch race at Michigan.
4) Bobby Allison's wreck at Pocono that nearly kills him and takes away his memory.
There are too many to put in here,so let's hope we won't have anymore.

Dale sr dies was the most shocking for me. I couldnt believe it. I just wanted to cry. and then dale jr wrecks the first lap of the Dura lube 400 the next sunday just similar of his dads but gladly he walked away with just a couple of bruises.

All of what has been listed. Most of this is expected to a point,but still sad.( BUT SHOCKING!!! The way people through stuff onto the track,Team members not placing their hand over their heart when they play the STAR SPANGLE BANNER, Also the actions of the drivers on and off the track. NOW THIS IS WHAT I call SHOCKING)....

so a approaches, the 1st easily NASCAR race I went to. final years Coke 0 4 hundred at Daytona. extraordinarily solid end too. It sucks via fact i grow to be sitting in turn a million and could not see the end line that properly.

I don't want to mention a death or a bad wreck, so I'll mention the infamous brawl between Cale Yarborough and the Allison brothers. Now that is why racing is exciting!

In the196o at Darlington Joe lee Johnson ,crashed into the pit wall i think 3 were killed mostly by flying debris. Engine builder Paul McDuffie was one of those killed.Fireball Roberts Burned at Charlott, Bobby meyers killed at Darlington,
