I've got a similar problem with my male ferret, he will give me kisses, but when my mom tries to touch him, he nips. It could be that they smell something different and tasty on the ones that they bite, or that the ferret is just being a little jealous. Anyway, my female doesn't exhibit this behavior. I asked a similar question about 2 months ago, and basically all that they told me was that mom is tastier, maybe she's mean to him when I don't look, or 'natural instincts'.

my ferret was the opposite. she would nip at me and kiss my boyfriend. They tend to be closer to whoever spends more time with them. I work at so my boyfriend is home alot with the girls. They just see him more then i do.. Try having you boyfriend spend some time with the ferret if he's not scared of it.

Perhaps it is jealous or territorial. Is your ferret a male?

Yes. Kissing leads to other things and it's hard to break up with the animal later.

Could be scent (soap or cologne). Or it could be that he or she just doesn't like males.
