Two Israeli soldiers taken prisoner so Israel's response is to bomb civilians, kill kids, destroy bridges, power plants, destroy large parts of Beirut. All this for two soldiers who were probably asleep? I don't think so.
Maybe it's time to look at whether the Bush clan encouraged Israel to bomb and destroy Lebanon and then had to withdraw when the Hezballah actually fought back. Imagine that!

Please, paid Israeli posters, save your fingers. We know you will post complaints that Israel is not at fault.

It is obvious that the paid Israeli posters didn't heed your advice. Those answers that simplify this issue by saying Hezballah fired rockets into Israel are wrong. The war started when two sleeping Israelis were captured.
HEZBALLAH DID NOT FIRE ROCKETS first. Israel responded by killing civilians, kids, old men and women, showing their true cowardice and disregard for others.
Israel is a terrorist state.

Hey wait a minute, I thought Hezbollah won the war. Since when do the losers pay for the winner's destruction? And how can the winner be destroyed anyway? I thought the loser is destroyed. I'm confused. I guess the old saying "To the victor goes the spoils" does not apply when the winner is destroyed and there arent any spoils. If that is Hezbollah's victory then I am sure Israel will be happy to let Hezbollah win a victory every day. Plus if the long term consequence of the war is that Lebanon takes control of its own sovereignty and the secular democracy prevails thereby adding to long term peace then the price Israel paid in lost life and property is more than sufficient payment.

How else do you discourage your Lebanese brothers from kidnapping Israeli citizens? May be Israel should of just ask to get it's people returned and lebanise would comply? Lebanon, although having a legit government, is actually ruled by Hezbollah, so they got what the deserve - and probably not enough destruction. You arabs always hiding behind the backs of your women and children, and when they get killed - you scream how brutal Israel is...Everyone knows that already, so go rebuild you freeking country if you think somebody should help Lebanon.

that is not even remotely close to to the comparable situation. First, Israel isn't focused on Lebanon, they are focused on a terrorist team that occurs to be making Lebanon their residing house. 2nd, Israel is making a element to objective and not hit civilians, although that could be a war and it won't be able to be proper each and all of the time. and finally, Israel has had thousands of deaths on their facet, too. That analogy is thoroughly beside the point and illogical.

I notice from your added comment that you only want people to answer if they agree with your point of view. So your question isn't really a question at all, just a close-minded statement to which you will acknowldge no contradiction. Somehow this doesn't surprise me, because the only way you can win a debate like this is to exclude all the people who disagree with you.

Well, sorry to disappoint you but I'm going to answer anyway...

I don't see Hezbullah offering to pay Israel for the damage they caused to Israeli towns. And despite Hezbullah's admission that they brought much of the destruction down on Lebanon by their own actions I don't seem then offering much in the way of compensation to the innocent Lebanese population either.

For two soldiers AND for hundred of rockets fired at entirely innocent people... you seem to have forgotten that it was the rocket attacks that provoked Israel's response just as any unprovoked attack on a sovereign state should. My only regret is that Israel didn't nuke Hezbullah and do the World a favour.

Why should they? Hezbollah began this war anyway, but everyone seems to forget that. You just want everyone to agree with your opinion. Hezbollah is a terrorist organization. You couldd say the same as your question about the USA's bombardment of Al- Qaeda bases, Iraq and Taliban bases in Afgahnistan.

Maybe if the Lebanese government had policed their own country effectively the bombing would have never happened. You do make a good point about wondering whether the USA government had anything to do with encouraging Israel though.

Why doesnt Lebanon have to pay for allowing terrorists to operate from their backyard and shoot rockets into villages in Israel? Oh, wait, I guess Israel definately made them pay for that mistake. So maybe they are even now - YHWH akbar! No one paid me to say that. No has to, it is simply the truth. I never cease to wonder when I read questions like the one this guy posted. Do people actually believe this kind of trash, or are they just trying to fool dumb westerners?

as far as I see it, lebanon started the fray. You don't just strut over the border of a country, snatch 1,2 or even a thousand soldiers and expect you won't get some dire crap happening in your country. I don't support such actions as israel's response, but I also do not condone lebanon's either.

Clearly Israel should be made to pay. They caused a massive oil spill in either Beirut or Tyre when the oil tanks were bombed and the oil leaked into the Mediterranean, causing loss of fishing on the coast.
Israel seems to think they can do whatever they want and can get away with it. I wonder why Bush back them. Is he a jew or what?
