I would like to become a DEF coach. What are the requirments of becoming a football coach? Do you need a degree? Are there certificates you need to obtain? Where is the best place to start?

No degree is needed. Try to become an assistant for a jr. high school team. Get to know the coach and volunteer. If you prove yourself you could then get a position on a high school team. Don't rush it though. Learn as much as you can. Go to clinics even if they're for players. You can meet coaches there and discuss they're jobs and maybe gain some insight on who to contact for a position. Good luck.

Pick a Major in college that is related to exercise science or sports recreation or anything along those lines. You don't necessarily need a degree but it may make you more creditable. Otherwise, you can start coaching local hockey leagues and progress from there. Dreams are for living.

You don't NEED to have a degree, but for the most part if you want a much better chance I would get a degree in teaching. However, in this field experience is key so if you have it as a player, you might just get it.

What is DEF?

If it is high school, then you would be best positioned as a teacher, so you would need to have a B.S.
