One long, 2 short beeps on the post is a Video error, in which case the card is either not seated or dead. this one is used in most Bios systems.

3 short beeps is a base 64k memory error. This one is used in AMI bios

My bet is on the long one, two short beeps.

sounds like a motherboard issue. motherboards are coded with error beeps. for instance, my motherboard gives a single beep every 2 seconds continuously if incompatible memory is installed. the beeps are not necessarily standard, so you may have to look up the key for your particular hardware.

The M/B is stopping during POST. Only three beeps would make me want to try swapping RAM to see if the same thing happens,,,:-)=

Sounds like you have some sort of virus. Try running a spyware program. Should clear up the problem. Or maybe you can system restore or recover. Recovering your computer gets rid of EVERYTHING so save the things you want on a floppy or disk.

you obvously cant run any software so dont waste your time thinking about virus. first unplug your pc then open the case check that all your cards and memory are seated properly.make sure to ground yourself first or touch the metal part of your computers frame FIRST this makes it so you dont shock your pc.then push in on your memory sticks first top and bottom.just remember to push straight in no wiggiling!! then try to boot.it should work

100% RAM problem, try removing it and then installing it tightly... only loose RAMs result in beeps

check the simplest thing first - does it have any energy? is it not plugged up and the battery is dead? that's what mine does when the above happens.
