Don't think I have ever (in my short career in the medical field) heard of someone having three testicles. Like some others have commented (except that RN who actually believes it could be true, not sure what college SHE went to, but musn't be a GOOD one), he probably has a mass that both you and he are confusing with a third testicle. A hernia is a possibility, it would feel more mush then a normally firm testicle. More likely it is a hydrocele (a fluid filled sack) next to the real testicle. See if you can transilluminate it (that is, use a pen light and see if the light goes through it). Of does it fell like a "bag of worms"? Then it could be a varicocele, dilated veins similar to the varicose veins some women get with pregnancy. Could it be a tumor? Not likely, as he has had this since childhood and most of these would be cancerous and would have caused other symptoms a long time ago.
But one this is for certain, it's not a third testicle. If you really want to know what it is, consult a physician (and stay away from RN's :)

I'm going to assume that by now it's been examined by a doctor. In that case, don't worry about it. However i had a friend who thought he had a 3rd testicle but it turned out to be an abdominal hernia that he'd had most lickley since birth.

pls go check with a doctor for the possibility of hernia.
or, it could be a cyst or some sort of malignant tumor.
if indeed it turns out to be a 3rd testicle, you can make money with the world's book of records, or the big circus!
or some science company might give your kids scholarships in exchange of studying your partner's 3rd testicle.
so go..

I have never heard of anyone having a 3rd testicle. Has his physician ever checked this?

mutations to the human genome happen all the time. I suggest that if he is able to sire children and it doesn't bother him, that you drop it. You almost seem obsessed with the whole thing. Not healthy dearie, let it go. Life is meant to be lived, not obsessed over.
