Yes and no.
If you mean are the pictures you have seen photographs of physical living beings, then the answer is no. No-one has ever taken a photograph of a living mermaid.
Pictures and "edited" photographs of mermaids are attempts to share the mental images of mermaids by the "artist." In this sense, they are real.

what is a mermaid? is it real or imaginary?
there was a baby born a while ago in Peru who had her legs fused together and the two feet stuck out like a mermaids tail, so that she was known as the little mermaid. I was happy to see recently that doctors have partially separated the legs so that she will be able to sort of shuffle walk, later they will separate up further and then tackle the genital area.
There is also a marine animal called a dugong which looks a bit like a mermaid which is possibly the source of the mermaid idea

The theory is that sailors mistook manatees for mermaids. Now, how you could mistake Darryl Hannah for a manatee is beyond me, but I suppose that, after spending several months at sea without any women, sailors are capable of seeing just about anything.

No, not that live in the waters like on t.v. or in the movies. There is however and syndrome that some babies can get when developing in the womb called "Mermaid Syndrome" where the legs are fused together.

Judging by the spelling and grammar you can't be much older than 10 so I hate to break your heart sweetie, but Mermaids and just fairy tales. It would be nice if they were real wouldn't it, I've always loved them :)
P.S. Candy, you shouldn't tell others to grow up when you are still using poor grammar and even worse spelling

no, the "mermaid" that used to be part of P.T. Barnum's great American Museum was actually a monkey sewn to a fish. Barnum had lots of fake animals made this way.
