You do not have to pay for the home version, just DL the free version and follow easily recognizable terrain features until you find your town. Or, use your vehicle´s (or that of a friend) GPS system to tell you your latitude and longitude and type that into googleearth.
Good Luck!

Google earth free version is available on the google site.Download it and surf the earth. If you want to find your village ,go to the specific state and find the nearest major city to the village and from there on search the leading to the village and find it.Possibly it is a tedious method but it will produce results.
