Why buy a plain white shirt for $40 because the tag inside says Abercombie? Why not buy it for $10 at Target? Why pay all that money for a shirt that has a check on it or the words "tommy". Who carses. These things arent even stylish. Just regular clothes. I have a friend wholl spend $30 on this Dora outfit for her daughter at Macy's but the same outfit, pretty much,is at walmart for $12. Nobody is even going to know this stuff came from macy's. Underwear for $25? Insane for regular panties and its not even lingerai.

I'm not much into labels, but there are times I will go for the more expensive brands because the quality is much better and I know the item will last much longer. At the same time, there are other items I see that are designer that I like, but I'll go to K-Mart or Wal-Mart or other cheaper store to find something of a similar style that is more affordable. It all depends on the particular item though.

To go even a little farther...if you are wanting name brand clothes try ebay. Also, sometimes in larger cities you can go to the Goodwill store and get name brand things for very cheap. That's where I get all my jeans. I got Tommy jeans for $3.50 because it was half price day...insane to pay full price when there are alternatives available.

I agree with you. I would shop at departments stores thinking that their clothes had better quality but I've learned that it's all the same. Including name brand clothes. It's stuff that won't fit in a year or two so why spend all that money anyway.

i have/had the same thinking. i usually buy at those lower discount stores, like Ross, TJ Maxx, Target for most of my things. but i think the reason people are compelled to pay more is that people tend to go with a more 'trusting'. most people believe that if everyone else buys it, then it must be good quality. its like buying tires on your vehicle....of course you can get a knockoff brand, but you don't know if / when it could possibly blow-out on you.

basically it comes down to trusting a name.

Some people will buy anything because they can, and some like big brand names. Others just do it to wast their money, why, I don't know. I don't and that's all I can say for now, just thinking about it makes me want to scream

Yes, I agree, some people just don't care what kind of money they spend on things. I prefer to be thrifty when I can myself.
