He spent about 10 yrs ago in jail, he's been out of jail for about 4 years now, but his criminal background is very extensive from traficking coccaine to burglary stealing cars, etc.. he claims that he has change, and she believes him, but has her doubts, from everything that she says it sounds that he has change... what do you think, should she give him a chance or cut him loose? is it dangerous?

Every man deserves a second chance for him to prove that he is capable to change. I believe that there's nothing wrong with your friend's dating an ex-con. Even if she falls in love with him, no one should make her change her feelings.

Live and let live is a very important maxim that is applicable in this situation. Let your friend decide for herself for she is not accountable to anyone in this world for her actions and decisions but to God alone.

You should even support her in making the right decision concerning this man. if she is falling for him, let her pursue her feelings without fear in her heart cast by doubts about his changing for the better. To curtail her freedom to love just because she may fall in love with an ex-con is a worst decision on the part of any third party for at the end, the situation may prove him or her wrong in doing so.

There were cases all over the world, I'm sure for I read some articles about this, that the worst criminals who went to jail became super kind, considerate, industrious and totally improved as ex-cons who were given chances by their societies to work and live normal lives.

With that, give that man the benefit of your doubt. Give him that very important chance to be a better person because to deprive him of this chance may be very unfair for someone who's really willing to change.

Man sounds like someone I know, are his initials ER...?
Anyway -- She obviously doesn't trust him fully for some reason....And if someone was locked up for that long. Those habits are hard to break. Especially if that's all he's known to do. I would ask her to take a step back from him and see what he's doing....Find something that will make her question him and he not be able to give an answer. I don't think she's in harm's way but if she feels he's still "Dealing" she could get in lots of trouble...

Wish her the best of luck and lock up your bank account.
Sounds harsh but she's going do what she wants.
In highschool a friends girlfriend asked me for a ride home once. She just wanted a ride nothing else, Well by the time daddy and big brother got done telling her what a wast I was, she couldn't keep away. ?? Go figure??

First, no offense here, but i think this is you wer're talking about. Second, this "friend" should guard herself until she's positively sure that he's not out to hurt her. And okay, I mean if she has her doubts that means it's not guna last forever. Just tell your friend not to do anything stupid and to keep her alarm bells ringing at the back of her head. Don't go anypalce with him, and at the first sight of him reverting back to his old ways, leave his a$$.

i think she should give him a chance until he screws up...my boyfriend was locked up for 6 months in a detention center when he was 15 for breaking in someone's house but he really has changed. so he could of changed because he doesnt want to go back so all i can to say is she needs to give him a chance because if she doesnt and he did change then she will have regrets forever.

no its not dangerous. see dis is wats wrong with da world... dont judge a book by its cover. so he had a bad life n made wrong choice as we all do. im pretty sure u n ur friend have done things dat u later regret. were not all perfect. n were not da ones to judge. if he said he changed give him a chance. we all deserve second chances. dont we? i have alot of friends dat have been in jail all from stealing clothes to mudering someone... but dat still dosent change da way i see dem... cuz i know wat happend i know wat lead dem to take does actions. maybe it wasnt nothin maybe dey didnt it cuz dey were young n stupid or cuz dey just wanted too but dat still dosent give us da right to say hes been in jail for dis n dat hes dangerouse dont date him. no... if he is still doin da same things den ok cut him loose but not just cuz of da reasons he did time... he did hes time he paid he debt to da community now treat him like a human being. hes not perfect ur not perfect n ur friend isnt either so just cuz u or her cheated on a boyfriend (for an example) should guys stop askin u out just cuz u cheated on him for reason only u know... du u think dats fair? i dont so wat im sayin is dont judge a book by its cover n tell her to give him another chance... just cuz he has a criminal record dosent mean he will NEVER change.

I'd think anytime you date a felone that has been in jail for that long its a risk factor. But depeneding on how long they were friends before they started dating maybe she thinks everything's ok. I would still keep my eyes open though.

I would tell her to keep her guard up. You never know what he could have in his back pocket. And since it was in his nature to do stupid things, you never know when he will revert back to his old nature and do something stupid again.

I'd say you're just jealous that she found a good one before you did.

If you talk her out of him, he can be YOURS!

...and this is your business how?

We all want the best for people, but sometimes they need to make that choice.
