College is like your ticket in to the working world...as they say. If your going to work for someone else and want to make money a college degree can help you. On the other hand if your have a business mind you can start your own business and make more money than working for some one. There are a "few" jobs that will pay well without a college degree but those are few and far between. Sadly many business today want you to have at least some college experience.

In general..no. Most employers want a 4 year degree, but some will go along with a 2 year degree which is typical for nurses, drafting, and chemists (not chemical engineer).
Somewhere within the last couple of years though the 2 year degree has become unacceptable unless you have several years of experience related to the position in question.
You also have to watch some employers. They will have a minimum education requirement, but might be willing to hire someone to fill the position until they can find someone who meets or exceeds the requirement. Employers who are doing this will not mention that the position is temporary.

Having college or no college is not as important as having marketable skills and believing there are jobs. Yes the environment has changed to a place where more networking is necessary to get a good paying job-- more necessary than just putting a resume on monster and waiting for the jobs to call... However if you have built a good experience base, learn to represent your skills in a positive light.. put another way, you have great skills, you just need to focus more on letting them shine, than to allow what you lack to stop you from trying to do more satisfying and rewarding work.

You will find lots of them if you look. It's true that college grads will in many cases get the first look.
But if you are good and have the desire and drive, you too can succeed. I know several people with little or no college making over 100k per year.
If you are concerned, you can think about starting your own business. The online world is huge. You can learn more about these options by reading some of the information on this site.

The answer to this question depends on what you consider a good job.
I know more people that have high paying jobs that didn't go to college then people that did go to college. I currently make close to $90k a year. I never attended college but had to work very hard for 9 years with the same company to make what I do.
However if you have the chance to go to college I suggest that you do.

Yes, plenty but it'll mean working pretty hard in the real world to get one.
You can sign on for an apprenticeship in most trades in the UK - and believe me plumbers and electricians earn good money here.
Or you can just work your way up, my best friend got hardly any qualifications at school and he's a senior IT manager making a fortune now.
Life is what you make of it and no college = a 2 year head start in the job market, but only if you make it count.

My experiences have shown there are plenty of jobs that do require degrees.... a few examples for you including my own personal example...
1 of my neighbors is 40, he has a 4 year degree and is still paying student loans. He does marketing and advertising and makes about 45k/year
Another of my neighbors did not goto school, he is 32 and has his Commercial Drivers License and works 50 hours a week for Waste Management picking up dumpsters with a truck. He makes about 60k/ year.
hmm whats up with that?
now my personal experiences:
First my Older Sister; She is 32 and has 120k in student loan debt and works at a museum making 38k/year.
Now me, I went to school for 1 year and decided it wasn't for me. I started out making 22k/year at 18, I bought my first house at 21, now at 28 I make 70k/year..... My mortgage payment is half what my sister's student payments are. As for most of my friends ages 25-35 that have 4 year degrees make 30-40k/year....
So Yes From my point of view it's college is waste and their are plenty of jobs you can make good incomes without degrees......
That doesn't mean college is entirely a waste of money, it all depends on what you wanna do......
Good Luck!

Dave thomas was a millionaire before he graduated from high school.
It does not matter if you go to college or even finish it. It's if you can sell whatever and get lots of money for it. I mean look at the richest man on the planet. He is a college drop out.
You also have to be serious on your chances though.
