I was told in the hospital that I should never ever give a newborn more than 2 oz. I did this, and my baby was crying all the time!
Once I got to my family doctor, he told me that the baby was crying because she was hungry, and that I need to feed her as much as she wanted.
I can't base this on fact, but have you ever heard that boys are always more hungry than girls?
Of course, I'd check with my pediatrician before I made any changes with a 2 week old.
Good luck!

I would offer him 3 to 4 oz per feeding. He may go longer between with this.
Babys go through a growth spurt at around 2 weeks and 1 month. So watch for signs in your little girl too.
My sisters twin sons... 1 eats about 5/6 oz every 3/4 hours and he is 7 weeks. The other eats about 4/5 oz every 3/4 hours.
Good Luck

Generally newborns will drink 2-3 ounces every 3-4 hours and will work up to 4 ounces every 4 hours about the time they are 1 month old. Were your twins born early? If your son needs a little more, add another ounce to his feeding and see how he does. It may just be that he wants a little more than his sister. A very general rule of thumb is that a baby will drink 2 - 2 1/2 ounces per pound of body weight each day until they reach 15 pounds. If your son weighs more than your daughter, than it is possible he may require a bit more formula than his lighter sister.

Just ask the doc because it just depends. my daughter who was almost 9 pounds when she was born was drinking 2 to 3 oz's the first day in the hospital and was drinking 8 oz's by the time she was about 3 weeks old! My doctor told me just to feed her until she's doesnt want anymore.

I'm the mother of three daughters. I learned that as long as a baby is wetting diapers regularly with light-colored urine and is gaining weight on regular check-ups, then there is nothing to worry about. Some infants need to eat more often than others. I was told by my first daughter's pediatrician and by her grandfather (who is also a doctor) that I should NEVER feed her more than 32 oz of formula per day - ever! Well, she was a normal 7.5 pound newborn who is now 17 and nearly 5'10". She needed that extra few ounces (which I gave her anyway) to be satisfied. She stopped crying and grew as SHE was supposed to. I say don't worry about it right now.

It depends on if your breastfeeding or formula feeding. If you are breastfeeding then let them go till they come off or let them nurse no less than 15 mins. If you are formula then 3-4 oz every 2-3 or 4 hours is enough. If they want more let them have it.

I would let them eat until they are happy and full. What does your ped say? Are the babies gaining weight? Are they having at least 4 to 5 wet diapers, or more, per day. I would check with your ped to see how much the twins should eat.
