I'm 26wks now. At all of my prenatal appts. my doc says "you're doing awesome" and all my measurements are fine so far! And at my 20wk scan he measured 1wk 6days bigger! But, my tummy isn't looking very pregnant, just a little, but the baby is moving A LOT. I'm just worried that there's not enough room, why don't I feel the weight of the baby is he's a foot long or so and should weigh about 1 1/2 to 2pnds?? Shouldn't I be sticking out more? This is my 1st pregnancy!!!

i went through the same line of questioning with myself everyday...but everything is coming out fine, (i am farther along than you). you are going to worry about every little thing, which is natural and a good sign of your mother to be skills! the measurements, heartbeat, and movement of the baby inside you are perfect as you have listed...than everything is fine...all women's bodies are different, so expect to be differentin size then the pregnant lady down the street who is the same amount of weeks pregnant than you. if it really bothers you...you can opt for another ultrasound which you will probably have to pay for because there is no problems with your pregnancy...either way, good luck!

Sounds like everything is fine, don't worry! There's lots of room, that's why he's able to move so much. Towards the very end of the pregnancy they REALLY slow down because there's not enough room. I know in the ultrasound it looked like a full size baby, but he's really TINY. He's got plenty of room, don't worry. I had my ultrasound at 20 weeks and I didn't show at all! I was so amazed that I was looking at pictures of a fully formed little infant! How could it possibly be in there?

Don't worry. Because this is your first pregnancy, you won't really 'stick out' until you are like 6 or 7 months along.

You are doing great! It is wonderful that your baby is moving alot and yes you have plenty of room. Your body was made to be pregnant and adapt to the weight changes of baby throughout the pregnancy. This is the time when women feel the most comfortable so enjoy it. Once you are well into your third trimester you will notice changes and find that baby moves less. Do not let the 1.6 week above measurement scare you. Babies do that and it means nothing. Every baby is different and every mom carries her babies differently. I would try to relax and recognize that this is normal. How exciting for you! Don't worry, alot of first time moms have your fears.

You should be just fine. If the baby measures big, that is fine, they just might have your due date off by a little bit. Some people don't show much until their 6th or 7th month pf pregnancy. I went in for my final check up with my oldest and the lady at the check in counter asked if I was pregnant. When I told her I Was 9 months, she about fell out of her chair in shock. Some people just don't show, while others show very early on.

Congrats on the new addition and don't worry. You should be fine.

You look tall in your belly shot (cute pudge going by the way,. I love looking back at my belly shots). Anyway, like I said you look tall. Keep in mind nothing in that area is permanently placed, and once you carry a kid your insides get rearranged, lol. Since you are tall there is more room up and down then shorter women. A women say 5' tall would stick out further then you do at the same gestation week b/c she doesn't have as much space up and down. Does that make since?

Also keep in mind that the U/S measurements are more guesses then anything. If you went by mine I would have had 9-10 lb babies and both my girls were 6 lb 10 oz. The only accurate U/S measurement you are going to get is ones done very early in your first trimester.

Don't worry so much!! You are probably doing more harm than good in just the worrying alone!! Since this is your 1st...your body is going through changes and doesn't know what to expect. You should talk to your Doctor and express your concers. If he isn't worried...you shouldn't be either. I know a woman that had her baby and just looked about 3 or 4 months preg. I know others that looked like they were delivering twins and a small baby was born. It just depends on your body frame and what you eat. Just keep taking care of yourself and things will work out. The best handbook I've read is " What to Expect When you are Expecting"... it details EVERYTHING and all concerns..get it. Good luck!!!

You know at 23 weeks I was thinking this too! I was like "Why aren't I fat and pregnent!!" Now I'm 29w3d and I'm like "I don't want to be fat anymore!!" Your body will start getting bigger! When your baby moves your stomach will change! There are times I look so big because of the way she is laying and others where I'm wondering where she went. I have gained 30 lbs and I woke up like this! LOL My daughter moves all day long... I watch my belly move around like jello! It's the greatest... Believe me YOUR BODY will make room for that little baby! I wonder the same thing and you should see me now! Ha! Good Luck and congrats!!

Everyone is different as far as how much they show and when. If your doctor said all is well and you feel the baby moving around alot...then stop stressing. It is when you feel a drastic drop in fetal movement that you should be concerned. Also, your insurance probably will not cover another ultrasound...and they are about $900 at most obgyn. So that is something else to think about.

Congrats btw. Hope all is well, and good luck with that little one.

Youre fine, although if you keep worrying dont hesitate to call your doc. I actually lost weight while i was pregnant and i do have to say that i looked skinnier than i did before i was pregant. On my second child i only gained 5 pounds and did not start to show until my 8th month, but that is only my personal story. I think everything is fine but u worrrying puts stress on the baby so if you feel that this is a legitamate question dont hesitate to talk to your doc just to see what they say. If for nothing else it will put ur mind at ease
