wow. This is a good question. I think it depends on the relationship. If you truly love someone, you want to do whatever you can to make them happy without sacrificing too much, which could cause resentment. If both people are committed to making the other person happy, then you should be able to do that without compromising too terribly much. If the other person is not committed to the relationship, is not committed to making me happy, if I am not the most important person, then I am less compromising, because if they are not willing to bend, I have found that if I am bending too far.... I will break every time.

I love stories with good endings. I have been a model husband for many years. How many men do you know that cook, clean, do laundry, take out the trash, mow the lawn, put the seat down, etc, etc?
