No, don't say anything about women's rights. They will think that you are a trouble maker.

Do a lot of research on the company beforehand, and in your cover letter point out how your previous experience will benefit the company. At least it will make you sound interested with a positive attitude and you will sound different from most of the applicants.

Ask someone who works there to put in a good word and provide you with a few pointers as to what they are looking for.
Dress for the interview. Dont wear very female clothing if you are doing a manual job. They will be looking for energy, strength and the ability to withstand sexist remarks if the majority of employees are male. Show you are of a strong character and mention your membership of local political party and well positioned relatives. Lie like a trooper if necessary.

Stress your work experience first thing, mention how well you work with "all genders". Point out that you are a strong minded person, can handle the job ..no problem; that you are not self concious. .. But most of all be true to yourself. if you can handle men..then go for it.

Speaking from personal experience.. the only woman in the building with 50 male employees. I wanted the job, I was aware I'm the only woman.. but went for it and got it.. So Good Luck!

Ps.. don't wear high heels and hugging clothes on your interview... Find out about the company and use it to our advantage.

As I had to look through resumes a while ago, the things that stood out were if the person was qualified, and how much training would I have to put into them, did they look like they were bouncing from job to job, did they look like they had been in honest dealings and good standing with their last employers, and this is the hardest thing to do, but make it sound like you are talking to them in a professional but very upbeat manner. Include a cover letter, ALWAYS. Make sure your grammar is PERFECT. Show them you are professional yet arent stuffy. You know you are qualified, show them that you know you are.

You need lots of action-oriented words in your cover letter. The web has a ton of sites to help with resumes and cover letters. If you are well-qualified, you should get an interview. If you don't get an interview, it may be that there are 50 others more qualified than you.

I work in a male dominated industry and haven't found any barriers as of yet since I have my education and experience backing me up. Also a lot of companies in a male-dominated industry try to hire more females in order to improve the male to female ratio.

good luck.

Go for the jugular - I don't think you have much to lose here. Include all the basic stuff and then talk about how active you are in your local right's movements particularly women's rights - they'll get scared you'll sue for discrimination and an interview should be yours.

Good luck.

Best of luck to you. I use to work in a Factory in Liverpool where they'd quite happily employ Lads who would come into work p*s$3d and do several lines of cocaine and then operate machinery but they wouldn't employ a Girl/Woman. Never did figure that one out.

Use all the available space on the application form to sell yourself, point up all your better attributes and ignore all your weaker points unless you must address them and then play them down.

Don't indicate whether you are male or female (you don't have to). Just give your initials and surname.
