Go back to court and get it reduced to a misdemeanor

A felony is a felony and yes it will follow you. As far as I know once you have a felony you can no longer vote. It depends on how old the charge is you may be able to get it expunged.

After you have paid all resititution and after 5 years (from your release date) you can vote again.
