Do you mean the stage in pregnancy were miscarriage etc is less likely? If so, then the first trimester (the first 3 months) is the stage of pregnancy when miscarriage is most likely to occur.
Problems can occur after the first 3 months, but it is less likely. Tell your friend not to worry too much, it'll be fine!

the experts beleive that the danger period is the first 12 weeks.
I would just advise her to take it easy throughout her pregnancy.
I went in to labour 14 weeks early for no apparent reason so who can tell if the danger time ends? I think mummys to be should take care all the way through.
(by the way, I had twins and they are now 1 and great!) didnt want to worry you!

Its 12 weeks when its safe to assume she is out of the danger zone, i.e. miscarrying etc. But they reckon a baby is likely to survive (they call it viable or something) if it is born after 28 weeks, well thats what I was told, when I was pregnant

The likely-hood of a miscarriage is before 28 weeks to she has a little way to go.However things can happen at anytime so make sure if you ever get worried you call a doctor. Part of their job is to ease any worries you may have.
