How do you get your first house upgrade?

after you've spoken to ninetails, and come back to town, clearing out gengar's rumors, you'll not really have anything to do..
so you just do bulletin board jobs and mail jobs, until after you've done three, wobbuffet will come by and ask you to go to uproar forest and take out the mankeys.
when you're on the 9th floor there, get chestnuts! they only appear there, and are infrequent.
after this mission, you can trade chestnuts for the mankeys to upgrade your house to a base that looks like your main character

jim's right i read about that i guess it works 4 both versions unless there are different pokemon working on your house in the red version which i have.
