There is no doubt that 42 is the correct answer (Life the Universe and everything) the debate lies in what the question really is as deep thought never worked that out.
Although personally i think 49 would of made more sense since it is the age of reason squared.

Yes, the answer is 42. It is the answer to life, the universe and everything. The question, for those who have not embarked into the strange world of Douglas Adams and his mouse-run supercomputer we call Earth, is
What is 6 x 9?
What? Nobody said the mice couldn't be philosophical. It means exactly what you wish it to mean.

No, there has been a great deal of over-simplified thinking on this.
The CORRECT answer is 41.9999.....
But it was calculated by a device of finite size, so it had to be rounded off to 42.

Muana-muana-muana, na munga-munga-munga. Oops. I was making up a silly foreign-jibberish sounding hum. Was I doing that out loud?
Yes. 42 is the correct answer.
And no, 42 is not the correct answer.
I'm sure you can figure out why and why not.
Buncha damned mice and their supercomputers... they think they're so damned smart!
(And I give you a thumbs-up for your brave new question.)
