My first weighed 6 13 at 41 1/2 wks. im now 36 wks prego in just had 2 ultrasounds that were both saying the baby weighs 7 2 already. The Dr. said the baby gains most of its weight the last two months. Could my due date be wrong or could my second really weigh that much more that my first. Also im small built and labor with my first was terrible. Im afraid that this one might be to big for me to deliver if I go full term. Any answers?

It's highly possible that this baby is bigger,my son was 7.15 and my daughter was 10.11. Every pregnancy is different. Good luck!

Yes, it is absolutely possible for the second to weigh more. Why would you think it wasn't? If the baby is too big to deliver, they will do a C-section. Childbirth is very traumatic but take the epidural. You won't feel a thing. Talk to your doctor for reassurance. The only concern you should have is for the baby's and your health. If both are good, everything else will work itself out. Stop worrying about things which may not even happen. You get very old, very fast doing that! Good luck! Health to both of you.

Its the last 2 weeks that the baby puts on the most weight...So this baby may be bigger. happens all the time. Let your Dr decide what is best when you go into labour. The contractions are good for the baby. If you can't deliver it...then you may have to have a c-section...but at least try.

No worries, Ive never heard of a dr. predicting correctly the weight of a baby. My sister in law they guess 8-9 lbs, the baby was like 5-6 lbs. Ask your doctor if you are concerned as Im sure they wouldnt make you deliver vaginally if the baby is too big.
Good luck and congrats on the upcoming arrival :)

Please realize those scans are not 100%.The baby may weigh 1 pound less or 1 pound more. They are not precise. My first child was 5lbs.9oz. and my second was 8lbs.3oz.I didnt notice a difference in delivery.Your due date is probably right especially if determined in early pregnancy. The doctor will always refere back to your first scan for your due date.Don't be worried cause that will only make you tense, especially during labor.Remember you are a woman , stay confident and if your baby is too big let your doctor or midwife determine that,it will save you alot of stress! Good luck

Ultrasounds are a great invention, but they're not always accurate. With my second son, I had one at 38 weeks to measure the baby (his brother was huge at birth and they were just making sure this one wasn't the same!) and they told me he was just over 7 lb. The VERY NEXT DAY he was born 8 lb. 11 oz. Go figure!

From what I have read second babies tend to weigh more than the first and boys weigh more than girls. I am nervous myself. I am 39 weeks with my second baby and it is a boy. My daughter weighed 7.4 and I tore pretty bad and afriad I wont be able to handle much bigger either. I am hoping the labor wont be much different though.

Your experience with pregnancy will most likely not be the same with both. It is very possible that this child will weigh more. I am small built and my daughter was 8lbs 8oz when she was born. Speak with your doctor about your delivery concerns and discuss options.

Your due date could be wrong - it's not an exact science. My first son weighed 8lbs 9oz. My second son weighed 5lbs 13oz.

I'm with the people that say every pregnancy is different. You're not going to deliver 6 pounders every pregnancy, that's just not realistic... unless you're cloning! ...You're not cloning, are you? haha.. I'm kidding, but there's nothing to worry about. You could very much be on time.
