A friend of mine is 20 [almost 21] and she has been dating a guy who recently turned 16. I find it kind of disgusting, but I never really said anything about it. Then they ended up breaking up, so I thought I didn't have anything to worry about. Well yesterday, my boyfriend and I caught them making out. It would not really be that big of a deal to me except that his parents really don't like her, and his parents think they aren't together any more. Until now, she has been very confident that his dad [the really anal one] wouldn't have any evidence to put her in jail. But now that my boyfriend and I caught them making out, he actually could have some evidence. But I want to talk to her about it first, without losing her friendship. What should I do?

approach this as you would if she had toilet paper on her shoe.
It is not something anyone wants to hear but it is neccessary that you talk some sense into her.
She can go to jail- see reports about adults having relationships with kids going to jail all the time nowadays. Maybe you need to remind her that she is in the same age bracket as those being jailed and publicly humilated by the media.

Either way she needs to wise up and get out of this relationship. No matter how flattering it may be to her it is still illegal.

Would you actually do that to your friend? Be the "evidence" the anal dad needs to put her in jail? I agree that their relationship is a bit disturbing, but as her friend, you should stay out of the legalities of it. I know she's breaking the law and it's wrong, but if you want to stay friends with her, stay out of it.

Let her know that secrets like that seldom remain a secret, and she is putting her future in jeopardy. She stands to go to prison, and what kind of a life would that be? You need to talk to her, even if it will end the relationship. In the future she will thank you for it, or at least not hold you to blame for her troubles, unless you are the one that turns her in.

It is really none of your business but I would pull this nitwit "friend" aside and tell her that she could be charged with Rape and land in the slammer on this. Remind her of those female teachers that have recently been on TV for the same thing. After that, say nothing...........she will reap what she sows and it is not your problem.

Stay out the biddness unless she ask, some people have to make mistakes on their own, let her bump her head a few times, all you can do is be there for her when she needs you. Which is gonna be often.

You need to sit down with her face to face and give her a piece of your mind. This fellow is just a kid, and even if she never got in trouble for seeing him, it's dispicable! How can she lower herself like that? Really this is dumb beyond belief.

If you are really her friend then you would give her advice whether she wants it or not..It's needed advice that could keep her @ss out of a whole lot of trouble. If she is really your friend then she would take your advice and thank you for it.

tell her what you think, but then just decided if you want ot continue your friendship or not and let her know that you will still be her frined, but don't think this is right plus she can get into a lot of SERIOUS trouble.

then let it go. you'll have done all you can.

You will not be a good friend if you are not bold enough to advise your friend on what is right at the right time.
