If you dont wish to do the work yourself then yes. Otherwise if your doing the work yourself, I'd ask for a price reduction to compensate for the money you will have to put our to correct the inspection items.
However even if you request the seller correct the items, they dont necessarily HAVE TO.

You can request that the seller fix or improve any problems you noted during your inspection. The seller has the right to see a copy of your inspection report. If the seller chooses not to fix any of the issues, you have the right to cancel the contract and look for another property. Buying a condo is a huge investment-make sure it is in good condition and fixed before you buy it. Good Luck!

Take a look at the inspection report and see what problems you think are worth asking the seller to fix. It is perfectly fine to ask the seller to fix things. You might also consider asking the seller to come down in price if you are willing to spend money to fix things yourself.

Your sales contract may limit the time you have to request repairs or a credit, and credits may also be limited to latent defects ... not patent.
It is also possible that your contract disallows repair credits period. You really have to read what you signed for the answer to this question.

Yes, it most definitely is! Are you working with a real estate agent? If so, they should be able to answer this question for you as well.

Read your contract. You may or may not be able to ask for repairs but it is spelled out in the contract.

I would also ask the seller to pay for the closing costs.
According to this article, this is the least they can do.

And according to this article, you can probably ask for discount.
