My boyfriend and I got into an argument. (I will keep the subject of the argument confidential).I questioned something he had said and he thought I was insenuating something that I was not. (Although what he thought I was insenuating was very harsh). This made him so mad.( I could see where it would've if that had been the case). He told me to shut up and get out of his room. So, I decided I would just leave. I was picking up my clothes I had left in the floor so I could get dressed and leave. He asked what I was doing and I ignored him. I was just going to get my stuff and go. He continued to ask what I was doing. I continued to ignore him. He told me to shut-up and get out of his room right? Yes, so that was what I was doing. He grabbed and and threw me out of his room. I don't know if I should be worried about this or not. I know what he thought I was insenuating about him was awful. But I feel like he should have asked if that's what I was saying before he grabbed me. Abuse or not?

He has never been physically abusive before. This happened last week and he hasn't been done anything physical since. He is a very happy go lucky kind of guy. This is why I'm so confused. We have been together for 3 years.

This doesn't mean that he is abusive...if you have been with him for 3 years and this is the first unwanted touch that he has given you than I believe youre okay. Tell him that he shouldn't touch you no matter how mad he is. Sometimes anger can put blinders on guys and they are uncontrollable when it comes to being physical expressing anger.
Your miscommunication cause the problem.....let time pass and then sit down calmly and discuss what was misunderstood. I think you two will be alright. And trust me...I know physical, emotional and verbal abuse..

There could be a potential problem here. If an argument between two people can be brought to a point that it is physical in any way, whether you put your hands on him, or he, you....yes, there is a problem. What's to say another situation won't arise and next time things get more heated and something really bad happen....I'm not saying you should just leave him right away, but if you feel the need to question this now....there's a problem that needs to be addressed RIGHT NOW! How you address it, is totally up to you, however, No one has the right to put there hands on another person in a fit of anger!!! Totally uncalled for...
Hope this helps. Good luck!

You have been together for three years and this is the first time anything like this has ever happened? Knowing the circumstances of the argument may make me feel differently, but I don't think this is abuse. Every person has a moment or an incident that makes them lose their cool. Sounds like this was his. If you questioned his integrity or insinuated that you do not trust him, then he may have responded with anger when he actually was expressing hurt or frustration. Give him the benefit of the doubt this time, but if it happens again, get out immediately.

i do not want to sound negative, but i was in that same situation before, my boyfriend was silly and goofy and fun to be around. but we also got into an argument, and after arguing he threw me onto the floor, after that, he increased his physical. although he never balled up his fist and socked me, he is very strong, and even him grabbing my arms hurt. so, i would be very careful, and just watch him when you'll do get into it.

I wouldn't call it abuse, though he was out of order to throw you out. Just tell him that his behaviour worried you and that you never want to see that side of him again. I think he just got caught up in the moment and everyone knows they say things they don't mean when they're arguing. Good Luck! x

Yeah that doesn't sound good. Everyone's gotta take their first step towards being REALLY abusive, that may have been his first. Who knows? It sounds like you can do ALOT better, girl.

This sounds like TEEN DRAMA. Maybe if you both grew up a little it would HELP.
