Generally in the USA, the Legal driving age is either 16yo or 18yo. However, I read a story on line yesterday where a 4 yo child bought a car on Ebay Motors when he found his mom's password and she has a stored credit card or enough money in her paypal acct. I thought it was hilarious that a 4 yo boy would buy a pink Nissan from the UK. The dealer was quite understanding and chose not to pursue or force the sale of the car. So even though you have to be either 16 or 18 to legally get a driver's license, all you have to be is a smart toddler to purchase and auto on Ebay!!

It depends on the state.
And in New York state it was 16 the last time I looked.
In New York City a full-license is 18. However, if you are attending school and you need a car to get there you can get a "junior" license at 16.
I understand in the mid-states up north - farm vehicles can be driven by 14 year olds...
Contact your local DMV and get the manual needed to take a written test for a driver's permit - start learning the rules of road now :-)
