Chemical bonds between the individual mineral molecules. This can be caused/catalyzed by heat, pressure, reactions with other chemicals, etc.

All minerals cool from molten rock that is produced inside the earth. They cool to form igneous rocks. This minerals can be rearranged and changed (in sedimentary rocks and metamorphic rocks), but they all start from cooling magma/lava.
