I had an email about something and living in South Africa I need to know the exchange rate in order to send the money.($47)

It's R7.70 for US dollar. But you probably know we're having a public holiday over here today, so business is a bit slow..

Bear in mind your friend will probably get about R7.20 when she sells her dollars, since commission fees etc would apply. Also she would need a passport (or get someone with a passport) to exchange the money -- it's because of something called FICA. The law wants to make sure you're not a drug-dealer or something thing like that.
