when your watching the movie, all the sudden you hear a beep. i just wanted to know because it was never explained. or at least i didn't notice the explanation. does anyone know? thanks

It was to bleep out Uma Thurman's Character name. Beatrix Kiddo.
Elle reveals it in Vol. 2. (Remember when they are doing the roll call after it is revealed?)

I noticed that to and I can only come up with censership, but if
you notice, the beep only happens when someone else refers
to the name of or the character of Uma Therman. Through out the rest of the movie all sorts of cuss words are not bleeped out.
I really don't know and would like to know. I was going to rent the
movie and see if it is there also, I don't remember a beep on the rented copy, but on the bought copy it is there.

It beeps in volume 1 because Tarantino doesn't reveal until Volume 2 that her name really is Kiddo. He calls her kiddo in volume 1, and you are lead to thinking it is a pet name or endearment. In actuality, it is revealed in volume 2 that her name is actually Beatrix Kiddo. To avoid revealing her name in volume 1, it is beeped out when someone says it.

They dont want to reveal her name yet in the movie so everytime someone says her name they just have the beep.

It bleeps whenever they say Uma Thurman's character name Beatrix Kiddo. I don't know why. I think it's because you don't find out, that is her name until the sequel and they don't want you to know her name until Kill Bill 2

I think the bleep is when someone says Uma Thurman's characters name to keep it a secret so we are still unsure of her parentage
