The rubber has carbon black in it because it reduces the rate of tire wear. I have a great uncle who was a tire chemist for a tire company and he told me that when I asked him the same question about 20 years ago.

It's not a bad idea to have your car tyres made in pink, orange,,
purple, green or even multi-coloured other than black only.
Since cars are getting more and more sophisticated in looks,
design and performance, it's not difficult for tyre manufacturers
to plan, design and implement a variety of colours to their
designer tyres, which I think, involves the colour dye pigments.
It would look very chic and extraordinary with multi-coloured
tyres on a Ferrari or a Porsche!
