Dude, of course we are brainwashed. I wish I had a happy cocoon to hide in, but "the world" has not affected me to be a very happy gal. I can't keep up with the Jonses because half the time I am too depressed to function. Why? Maybe for the exact reasons you've stated here, the anxiety and the panic attacks could be happening because things just aren't the way they were supposed to be...the dehabilitating pain I am in every day could be happening because the air I breathe, the water I drink and the food I eat is toxic and dead. Future generations? I'd say we are already beginning to suffer these things. Can we change, I don't know, would the "powers that be" let us? That is the scariest question, isn't it? If there is money to be made, I think there are entities who would kill us all to get it. We can only do what we can do, but we have to keep doing it, and never give up hope. If you need some inspiration, study the life of Ghandi. I don't know if you have any spiritual convictions, but I have found my faith to be an absolutely necessary means of staying alive. There are many spiritual teachings from all faiths that can become a source of strength and hope for each of us. That's what I mean when I say that I am alive right now only by this kind of hope. It's not too late for us to turn things around, but it ain't gonna be easy my friend. Just don't give up, be part of the solution to the greatest degree that you can, and never stop learning. That's what we can do. We can boycott, we can protest, non-violently, and achieve social change, but we can never, ever let our guard down for a second, or the jackels will be right back at it again. Some say, if you love sausage and you love the law, you should never watch either of them being made. I say, we need to watch our lawmakers very closely, so we don't wind up eating $hit, you know what I mean? Keep the faith friend.

I don't keep up with the Joneses and I am completely happy in my little "cocoon." I'm not owned, run or influenced by corporations. I do my part to help make this earth sustainable and I hope to make my children even better at it than I am.

I think you're a bit paranoid.

And BTW, if you're going to compete with the corporations, it would be a good idea to get a better concept of how to communicate. If your idea holds any merit at all, it's because those who "thrive on GREED" have found a way to reach the masses. Writing like that just leads people to believe you're a bit crazy and don't have much of substance to offer. One mistake here or there - not a biggie - abbreviations, who cares. But one paragraph with little spacing, bad spelling and poor structural organization doesn't help your cause much, sorry.

Brainwashed is the human condition. It's just a matter of choosing your brainwasher.

Yes, we must all rise up and run through the streets naked shouting out 'We are not brainwashed!'
