I quit 2 years ago. No lie, it was hard! But you have to exercise self-control everyday. When the urge hits, and it will hit hard, just don't give in. Stay strong! You can do it! Once you get past two weeks, you'll have it beat. Do it for you and your BABY!

I quit the smoking back in 1992…cold turkey. I wasn’t pregnant…I would be a rich man today if I were. To quit is an act of will…mind over matter. What you need to do is put your mind to a task so that your quitting the smoking doesn’t matter. Do something that makes you think, and keeps your hands busy. Get away from the places where you usually smoke. Chew sugarless gum. Eat suckers. Gnaw on pencils. Keep your mouth and hands occupied so that a cigarette won’t fit into your schedule.

30 days…that’s all it takes to break a habit or start a new one. Good luck.

Try thinking about your baby with the brand new crystal clean lungs that will become smoky - like you being in a house on fire and there's only smoke to breath!
Good for you for trying to quit (babies of smokers have low birth rates, and compromised immune systems) Talk to your Doctor about this, and if all he gives you is some lame excuse about "just sticking to your guns - ignore the craving crap", go see a Naturopath (certified) who can help you regain a healthy body for yourself and your baby.

Good Luck!!

Chew some gum and think about your little baby and how that smoke would effect him/her and how you're doing such a great job for you AND the baby! Don't give up, it's tough (I've been in the same situation) but you'll get through it. Go to your happy place! : ) No one says you can't smoke in your your happy place.

Just think about what you'll be doing to that child if you blaze up even once. Chew gum, drink a coke, pinch yourself, jog around the block, do something but do not smoke.

How about thinking about how much you won't be putting your child at risk like being a midget cause you chose to stop smoking.

The main important issue you need to consider is your unborn child being healthy, that should say it all, you smoke that's killing or giving harm to you child, don't make he/she suffer because of your bad habits!!!

smoking when pregnant makes one unborn child retarded[mad], so expected mothers are advised by doctors to avoid smoking.
it is estimated that one ciggrate decreases smoker's life by aprrox 30 minutes.
so please don't smoke for your baby's sake. try to inculcate in good hobbies, like listening to live music, playing diff sports, talking to friends, chatting online, reading different story books[harry potter is good] and also cooking.so that you may forget and do away your smoking habit.

Like in the movie Holes, try chewing on sunflower seeds like Mr. Sir. You never know, it might work. And good luck with your baby. I hope she/he turns out fine.
