Nope. Reading all the dire warnings on products are the worst health hazards. Smoking is definitely a killer - for SOME people. Remember the oldest lady in the world - just died a few months ago at the age of 122. Smoked like a chimney, drank scotch every day and ate what she felt like. A close friend died of lung cancer and had never smoked in his life. He was a health nut - went out running every day - inhaling all the fumes from the cars. Remember Dana Reeves? I don't smoke because I choose not to, but I eat what I please. We're all going to die someday, so enjoy it while you can.

It's hard to say that they're *the* worst - that's going to vary from one person to another; some systems can take more abuse than others. But they're definitely right up there in the top ten for most folks in the developed world, at least. Sedentary lifestyles and high fat consumption are others in the same class.

At least smoking and sugar-eating are somewhat optional - you can stop them if you want. But it's hard to avoid the stuff that might be in your local air and/or water. Depending on where you are, those could also be major health hazards.

Then again, if you live in downtown Baghdad or Kabul, you've got other, more imminent health hazards to worry about.

Smoking isn't (the government/pharmaceutical interests would have you believe it is because it's actually good for you and prevents disease), but sugar and processed foods and unhealthy modified oils and toxic artificial sweeteners like Splenda are awful for your health. Most of all, though, the #1 danger to your health is your family doctor because he/she has been trained by the pharmaceutical interests (who fund all medical text books and curriculum) to prescribe drugs for everything, profitable drugs that are making big pharma companies RICH, rather than treating the root causes of disease and illness with natural, non-drug methods. We stopped smoking 50 years ago, started eating low-fat diets (another propaganda) full of processed foods and started taking drugs for every malady, and now look at us: unhealthy as never before, fat and getting sicker by the year. This is no coincidence. Wake up & watch out, people!

Gargling with broken glass has to rank pretty high on that list also. And let's not even talk about crossing expressways on foot..

I would say smoking and eating food with chlosterol and saturated fat is worse.
