What do people think of British artists such as Robbie Williams, Lilly Allen, Oasis, Arctic Monkeys or Radiohead who I think all have a kind of care free almost lazy way of singing? Even though their individual styles are all different they still share a similar way in which their music sounds. What do people think of it?? Why or why don't you like it?

For everyone who thinks I'm insulting the bands/singers I mentioned-I'm not! I was just trying to describe their style so people could understand what I was talking about.

Oasis were probably that last, bet British band... Anything since has been repetitive here-today-gone-tomorrow mince.
Look at it long term... how many of these bands do think people will be talking about in 10 years time
Robbie Williams.... jeez... the guy has no style of his own and relies in ripping off other people depending on what's in.

I don't see the carefree almost lazy way of singing as a bad thing, but even if it sounds that way you can bet there is a definate decision to sound that way.
Robbie Williams can be quite hit and miss but his second album was great. 'No regrets' and 'Karma Killer' being two of the best songs. I've only heard a couple of lily allens songs, she sounds good and i really like 'LDN.'
Oasis was never really my thing, in my circle of friends you were either an Oasis Fan or a Blur fan and most of us were Blur fans, that said i like a few songs of Oasis last album, like 'part of the queue' and 'guess god thinks i'm Abel.'
Arctic monkeys are just brilliant, I love the whole album, especially 'Mardy Bum' and 'bet you look good on the dance floor. As soon as i heard that album i loved it.
Now Radiohead is the only band you mentioned who i really don't care for unless i want to wallow in depression, and sometimes thats just how you feel, music for all occasions and all fans eh?
Most of these bands i love the style of singing and the lyrics but because im english and am living in the USA i like to listen to a lot of bands who actually sound English.
You should try the Kooks, the Feeling, Blur and even The gorillas.
The english music scene is thriving and those bands are only the ones you hear a lot about. great stuff.

Okay, I loved Oasis years ago when they were first about. I still like them but I think they're going off the boil a bit and I probably wouldn't buy anything new they did.
Similarly, I liked Robbie from the Take That days and think most of his solo stuff has been pretty great too.
Lilly Allen and Artic Monkeys suck though - they're new bands trying to copy what old bands did and it's dated and unoriginal.

Robbie is a great entertainer, Lily Allen is on the back of her fathers fame, Oasis are the new Beatles and the monkeys and Radiohead are talentless amateurs.

Sometimes it just sounds lik,e they're talking, rather than singing, don't get me wrong though, I love three of those bands you have mentioned [Oasis, Arctic Monkeys, Radiohead] I think Lily Allen is absolute garbage.

oasis were/are class their approch to the media could be better which is why most people dont like them but their first 2 albums definitely maybe and morning glory are two of the best british albums ever. artic monkeys are very good and will be around for a long time and again a very good album. as a previous fella said the next big thing is the kooks, they are very good and well worth listening to. i dont think that they have a lazy style they are just natural singers and dont exagerate there voices like the american divas and rock stars.(not knocking american music.................... well some of it )

I like em but I prefer newer music at the moment - I heard a band called Merla at a festival this summer and I think they might be next year's arctic monkeys!
As for your selection, I like all of them apart from Lilly Allen - she is terrible!

Perhaps they should all be made to sing with American accents, is that what you mean?
