i thought it was scary and much bette than the boring original

I really liked it too! And i swear Ryan Reynolds abs had nothing to do with it (that's what i told my husband too).

Hi, from Brazil.
My English is not so good...But let me try to answer you. The original one was scary, maybe because it was in 76 or 78, I can´t remember. In that years the FX wasn´t so perfect like today. Today´s FX too much exxaggerated. That´s because I think the original was better.
I was in Canada in '84. You must be proud to live in a bautiful country.

I thought both movies were kinda ...blah and slow . You want to be freaked? Read the book the original one. I found them at a yard sale a set of them 1-4 ...I didnt know they wrote that many about this Lutz couple....I read them all... I wouldnt go in the basement for a month. It also got me out of doing laundry too.

with today's MTV style of movie making, it was good but strayed away from events that actually happened. there aren't to many remakes that are better than the original, in my opinion.

It was actually pretty funny, in a I-don't-believe-I'm-watching-this way...Gore and giggles...But even for a horror flick, the characters were way too stupid and had the survival instincts of inbred gerbils.
Besides, that isn't how you use an axe with any result other than the head sticking out of your shinbone. Please! (Yes, I nitpick.)

Yeah it freaked me out and being that it was based on like a true story was even more crazy. I love to be scared but, whoa I was freaked out.

This new updated version was so not scary, the original version was more scarier than this mess.
But my guy friend date was scared by it.

classic is better as usual. the classic makes u sense the scaryness not throw it in your face like the remake. spoils it.
