A name for something we experience as " I " not the body, not the mind.

Good question. A soul is that which is the life force of the individual to whom it belongs. It is that which has existed long before the formation of the body. It is that which will not tarnish nor decay while the body or shell withers and scatters to the winds.
The soul is that gift of which God has blessed us and made us capable of attaining eternal life in His kingdom.

I'm not sure but I imagine it to be a small brown leathery object. Of course a soul does not exist in the physical world as we all know it is perhaps best descibed "the immaterial part of a person; the actuating cause of an individual life ", see link for more info

It is the seat of the intelligence, it is the life force that animates the body and the key that turns the clock. It is the essential piece of us that connects us to the source of creation.

Next time you feel lonley, remember... we are all spirit and all spirit is one. Connceted and yet indivisual like a computer, like the internet.

Next time you see one of the 1500 violent acts they show in an hour on any television station... look at a dead body, really look at it.

Or... their is an art exhibit that I highly reccomend you go see. It is called inside the human body. It is by a German artist who used actual cadavers and cross sectioned them, dissected them, soaked them in formaldahyde and put them on display.

Go look at the human body after the soul leaves it. You'll see the difference immediately and it will effect you on a very deep level if you are at all using your brain.

Your spirit, your soul, is the essence of who and what you are. It is the life force that keeps your bones from falling into a heap on the floor, it is the part of you that understands that life as we know it is set up for the body, so that we can relate and understand one another, it is a tool for relation and coesion, it is the vessel that brings forth life and holds the limitations of death.

The intellect, the magic, the love, the feeling, the experience... all gifts from God, the source that originated and began all of it.

respect it... it is who you are. and what connects you to the entire rest of humanity. Life as we experience it is only fleeting... a moment in the eternity that we experience and are experiencing right now... Life is quite different on a soul level. Everything you know... or think you know now. Is nothing compared.

"Lay up your treasures in heaven"... means something.

so does "Heaven is within."

For all intents and purposes "THE SOUL" is an invention, and no one I've ever known, while they lived, had a concrete, positively provable definition.

It could be said that the SOUL is a manifestation of what the MIND creates, for multiple reasons, both rational and irrational.

It also allows us to categorize those things, situations, emotions, we can't otherwise understand, explain, or convince anyone else of, in a real sense.

A soul is a conjoined twin of body and mind floating in an ethereal space within

The real you--what you visualize yourself as being once perfected and liberated of everything that causes you pain, fatigue, and self consciousness. it is the driving energy that powers your physical body and rests in a hollow behind(and slightly above) your heart. It lives in dreams and feeds off music and chocolate and all those little things that bring you joy. It is what makes you feel empty and sore inside when your heart has been broken and where you find strength and courage when you thought you had been pushed to your limit.

I think that your soul is just your conciousness. It's what makes you think, feel, react to things that you are dealt with in your life.

Like when people say to others, "You have no soul!" They are saying that this person does not have a concious and does not care about reprecussions that may occour.
