i loved the book and i just wanted to know how good the movie was.

Going by the previews, I thought it looked great!! But when it got to my town, they rushed it out of the theaters in less than two full weeks. We never got to go see it! I think if it had been marketed much better, it would have had more theater success. If it's on DVD then it will be more available for folks to see. Good luck!!

For a kid's movie its OK. Not great, not bad. Good story. A little didactic.
