I will start a Master's degree in England next semester and have a choice of two programs, one in Reading and the other in Portsmouth. I was wondering which city offers a better choice for a foreign student.

I can't comment on the courses, but can make some observations about the towns.

Portsmouth is a naval dockyard, so can be a little rough; there are definitely areas to be avoided, especially if you are female.

Reading is not a hotbed of excitement, but will undoubtedly be a lot safer. It's also not too far from London.

Hope that's of some help.

Portsmouth, positively, no question.
