I think it would be rude not to- he's miles from home, why wouldn't I let him in? He'd be in need of seeing a friendly face. I'd even offer him a drink and a bickie!

Worst case scenario? Use him as an oversized raisin like he appears to be!
Seriously, "E.T." the film is the reason why John Carpenter's 1982 classic "THE THING" failed miserably at the box office, resulting in the film's poor public views and disastrous feedback.
If it wasn't for the summer of "E.T." (1982), maybe John Carpenter's masterpiece would have gotten better reviews and the general public audience wouldn't have destroyed this film's image as much as they did.
So in the nicest way possible, F*CK E.T. !
