No he's not addicted to oil, he's addicted to blood. The war in Iraq was completely irresponsible, not enough troops were sent where in the first place, and above that they were sent there on bush's lies. In Afghanistan it was a different matter. I thankful to God my son wasn't killed this past Sat(9/23/06) when his vehicle struck an IED, he was knocked out of his vehicle got dusty and was left a very loud ringing in his ears. I pray his Army buddies got away without injuries. I also pray that my grandson who is in the same place amongst the war-mongers makes it home save. ole dubya just tring his former employers rich(the oil companies), and it looks like he's doing a good job at that

Probably not. Even if he did and "quit" (on a personal basis) it wouldn't affect you! Also it is not useful within your body (and is definately not good to eat).

Now - joking over. "oil" is not needed, - as long as you like to walk everywhere you go, - eat only locally grown food (in season when it is available), and do all work manually (since electricity won't be available either), unless you are relatively rich, and can afford to buy buy things to set up solar or windpower electric system. Of course you will have to carry them to your "site" by use of horses, (or carry them yourself). And of course referigeraton won't be avaiable for most people (due to expense),-- remember the economy will be very meager, so people won't have good paying jobs (if any at all) unless they are in agriculture. People have to eat, even though they can do with out oil, - so the economy will be mostly agriucultural (like 150 years ago).

People are addicted to the things that oil allows, Like transportaton, electricity , cell phones, television, ,-(laborsaving appliances), computers. Access to all kinds of foods (shipped in from elsewhere year -ound) Fresh foods (not canned or dried) referigerated - are our preference. Since there is no other technology available at this time that can fully take over the place oil occupies, we would loose all these things! And of course without "oill" in the begining, -we would never have come far enough to even be able to dream of having the "advanced" techniologies" available in the future!

I have been on the planet fo over 67 years, I grew up without electricity (remote area) telephone (for same reason) We heated the house with wood stove, heated water on that stove for washing things (& ourselves). We had radio (run on a pile of batteries that weighed about 20 pounds), which was used sparingly. We grew our own food and canned or dried it for winter use, we did have a car and a truck so we didn't have to walk to get to town, however I walked 2 miles to school. During ww2 we could only have 5 gallons of gas a week, - due to "rationing",-(the truck got about 5mpg, and the car got maybe 8) So we didn't travel much then! Actually I think we lived beter then, -- than now, - so if you are willing to do without, -lets "axe the oil supply right now". I know how to make it on my own!

The simple answer is that you go to the hand that feeds you; and big oil has been feeding him, his family and all of his friends and political allies very well for a very long time. We have a problem that we have ignored for too long as a country, but if you're waiting for a government ruled by lobbyist to change, you're in for a long wait.
