Paparazzi is a plural term (paparazzo being the singular form) for photographers who take candid photographs of celebrities, usually by relentlessly shadowing them in their public and private activities.

Celebrities claiming to have been hounded by such photographers often use "paparazzi" as a pejorative termwhile news agencies commonly use the word in a broader sense to describe all photographers who take pictures of people of note.

it's a group of people with cameras, who follow celebrities every where they go. they'll follow them home, hide in their trees, hind in a bathroom stall (I'm sure this has happen), follow them to the store, to their vacation spots. all they want is a photo of these celebrities, and they'll kill (literally) to get one. Paparazzi don't care about the safety or the well being of the celebs they stalk. all they see is, that big paycheck. Some photos could go as high as $1million a photo.

They are people who love the life of celebs so much, they take pictures to tell tale to the public.

If you were a celeb, I'm sure you wouldn't like a camera man in your face 24/7. There is just no privacy/respect.

basically, the term papparazzi applies to ANY media person, be it reporter or photographer, that constantly follows around a famous person(s) in order to get a "story" or photo worth publishing. the best papparazzi sell their stories and photos for a LOT of money to magazines who are interested in publishing gossip and rare photos of celebrities.
