ok i got my 1st period july 26, ever since then its been every 28 days.Ok but now ,just this week it has lasted 8 days....so did my mother's period.Is this normal to have 8 days, or its just cuz its doing the same as my mom? thanks.

more then likely it's doing the same as your mom. When i lived home my mom and i would get it the same week every month..and it would alst the same amount of days. 8 days is a bit long though to be getting it for...you may want to consult your dr about that. but i wouldn't be concerned about getting it the same time as your mother....for some reason the hormes pick up on eachother and then keep the same schedual. when i lived with a female roommate, it did the same thing to me. And now my mother and i are completely opossite days of the week. Strange how that works. funny i remember the very first time i started mine...embarrassing story...but i remember dreading having it for the rest of my life, and now i've had it for 13 years...somewhere along the way it just become natural...

Hey there! I wanna tell you that it is normally for a period to be 8 days. I am 16 years old and I had my first period when i was 13. My period lasts 7 days so you can be sure that your period is normal. Every person can have a different period day...these days average from 2 days to 8 days even more. Your period days may decrease tough by the passing years. You don't worry cause it is normal.

I started at age 12, and it was a year or more before I was regular. An eight day period is not abnormal. If you are HEAVILY bleeding, like going through a pad an hour, that is cause for concern. You just have to wait til your body figures out this new process it is going through. The same problem will present itself after your first baby, too, more than likely.

You probs won't get regular for like 1 year. So don't worry about it. It probably was just a conincidence! Also, sometimes girls period's hookup if you live with them!

Everyone's period is different. I've heard some girls can have theirs for two weeks! As you get older it will regulate and possibley become shorter, or even lighter. Every one is different. Don't worry about it. Welcome to being a Lady!

period's vary , for woman to woman. your just fine !!
Mine used to last 3 days , where as i would hear my friends yell about how there lasted 5-10 days ..

They say that women who live together cycle together.
Sometimes they will be longer than others and sometimes heavier or lighter. It fluctuates some and that is normal.
