Quote - Inter dimensional travel -
"The most exciting assertion of all is that these string loops are said to be capable of travelling between dimensions, creating a crack in time. In effect a worm hole between two or more separate dimensions."

Yes, string theory is very promising in every possible way.

However, there is no single string theory, there are zillions of them, and none are known to be either internally consistent or consistent with observation. So string theory may not work at all. Time will tell. Or maybe it won't.

String theory actually branched out into 6 major forms, which were then brought together with a theory called M-Theory.

Certainly understanding the environment we live in and the laws of physics makes it possible for us to create better tools. While we might not be able to build something to slide into other dimensions, it's certainly possible that quantum technology will transform our society as much as electricity has so far.

Quantum computers, communication and energy transfer are just some of the large areas that will be affected. Quantum computers will make todays super-computers look like little toys. Quantum communication will start to bridge the gap for long distance communication (it isn't bound by the speed of light).

If you'd like to hear about some of the possibilities, feel free to write me and I'll be happy to tell you some of the details.

String theory is a so-far untestable hypothesis. One of the many, many consequences (deductions) of the theory would be inter-dimensional travel. All these deductions would need to be tested or verified by experiment or observation, so yes, new frontiers of experiment and observation would open up. It's just a matter of time before this theory, one of several, is taken up and explored by scientists--maybe it becomes a new paradigm of research in cosmology. There's a certain critical mass that must be achieved first--a certain number of scientists (not just a few) working on it. Whether or not it will be sustained as a viable theory is not something we can tell right now.

According to scientists the string theory is only part of the whole. When we understand strings then that will open our understanding up to a wide range of other possibilities and we can answer questions like, Where do strings come from? Why do they only exist for nanoseconds? or what do women really want?

Maybe in the future, but right now we don't have the understanding as a species to use anything we learn in string theory, and it won't affect anyone living today anytime soon.
