"If a lift take 5 second to reach the top floor,What is the power generated by the lift?" The answer is:3300 W .This question is from my text book,but i don't know how do they get the answer.What is the solution?

to compute a power, you need a quantity of energy, and a time

here it seems that you've got a time, 5 seconds

but you don't have the mass of the lift, nor the height difference

try another problem you might prefer: "it takes 5 seconds to update music on your iPod, what is the connection speed?" You'd probably say, hey, can't answer that, depends on how much data there was! Well, same here

From the 5 seconds determine the velocity that the lift moves; from the weight of the lift you can get the force, due to gravity. Now multiply the velocity by the force and this will be a very good approximation to this type of problem.

Potencia = W x Velocity

You need to know the hight of the building to do this..

more information about question would have got you the answer so get more information on question ,than you would most probably get the answer from people above and may be from me also.
